Mark grew up having his dad, Russ, as his
Coach throughout his Little League and
All-Star career. His mom, Teresa,
was
Team Mom.
Mark was the youngest player at the Minor Little
League level on Maui at the age of seven. Mark
excelled, being very comfortable playing against kids
3-5 years older.
At age seven, he helped lead his team
to the League Championship, pitching a
complete game one-hitter, and striking
out eleven batters.
Mark played four years at the Major level helping his
team, the Yankees, to three League Championships:
2006, 2007, and 2008.
Mark played on the 2006
All-Star team that was the first team from
Maui to take the State
Title, ten year-old division, defeating
Waipio of Oahu, 3-2. Waipio eventually
went on to win the
Little League World Series
in 2008.
On their roster were five players from the
team the District 3 Kihei Maui All-Stars had defeated
two years earlier.
Mark began playing Travel Ball at the age of ten
with a San Diego, California
team, the Bullpen Bulls.
He participates in two
tournaments a year, and has proven to be among the top
talent, both pitching and playing shortstop. Mark
finished the 2008 USTBA California Labor Day
Tournament going 13
for 15 with 3 homeruns, and stroking 3 doubles.
He
was given the nickname “Pineapple Express” by Coach
Jay Sundahl.
The Bullpen Baseball Academy (Bullpenbaseballacademy.com)
continues to provide great coaching, instruction, and
opportunity for Mark as his baseball career evolves.
